This book tells the story of a supervillain called "The Crisis" and his best friend, an assassin named "Poison" as they carve out a living in a dystopian future. Crisis is on the run from the FBI including a sexy metahuman agent whom he might be in love with. Along the way they run into a genius Russian cyborg, a pink haired exotic dancer who wants to become a supervillain, a superhero with an MBA from Wharton who can lift a skyscraper and many others. Follow the two friends as they bounce from caper to caper and try to manage their dysfunctional dating lives. This book is for those who enjoy thought provoking, humorous and sometimes dark superhero adventures with lots of action. Excerpt: And that's how we ended up breaking into the Kremlin. And if you want to try 'convincing him' I'm not going to pull your sorry ass out of the dumpster this time." "Some friend you are. Leave me hanging the fifth time I take on someone out of my league. Wasn't I your wing man when you asked out The Countess?" "First off she's not out of my league, and second yes you did. And third who the hell says no with an antimatter blast?" I smiled. It was rare to see Poison rattled, but only his quick reflexes and my deflector shield had saved us from complete annihilation. Well that and preparation. I mean I had invested in a deflector shield a few years back. A guy way smarter than me, not quite in Dr. Impossible's class, but still a brilliant inventor, was also a terrible poker player. I smoothed over some of his gambling debts (ie. broke a few thumbs) in exchange for his beta version of a deflector field. It has some issues, it only lasts for 30 seconds, but it reflects almost anything. Except it takes a few days to recharge. Like I said, beta version. I'd ask him to fix the bugs, but he racked up some more gambling debts when I wasn't around and... well you can fill in the blanks. Blanks like where his eyes used to be. Casinos for the metahuman crowd do not take kindly to two things, card counters and people who can't pay their debts.
