Description
'War Makes For Strange Bedfellows' London 1940: Cockney Tommy Adams' brutal father is killed in the Blitz, leaving him alone with his prized possession, a stolen painting from a bombed out gallery. Believing himself wanted, he flees London, and soon finds himself aboard an evacuee train, heading for the docks, where he meets the wealthy children, Catherine and Phillip Belvoir and their maid, Georgia, bound for Canada. When the four children find themselves set adrift in deserted island, class and personalities clash, and soon hinder their daily struggle for survival against the forces of nature. The arrival of a German paratrooper only escalates their dangers, and suddenly new battles and tensions commence.
