Description
Twenty-four years ago, Evan Masters had left the small town of McDermott, vowing never to return. Only the serious illness of his first love, Dylan Daniels, has the power to bring the town's black sheep back into the fold. Intending to stay just long enough to make things right with Dylan, Evan finds himself needing to solve the mystery of his mother's disappearance just months before he himself had left town. His strained relationship with his family requires repairing even though he can not ignore his father's need for secrecy surrounding his missing wife. A semi-celebrity, Evan sparks controversy and excitement in the small town and is pursued romantically by an old friend while being scorned by Dylan's grown daughter, Meghan. Evan finds himself being drawn back emotionally by the love of his family, his reconciliation with Dylan, and the feeling that he is finally home again. As his attraction for Meghan grows, he continues to investigate what he believes is his mother's abduction, and tries to come to grips with Dylan's failing health. No more a man than the day he had left McDermott, Evan fights his own demons to discover love in the last place he expected to find it and acceptance of past events he can not change.
