Description
Jules has been called too private and too stubborn for her entire life. When her husband and soul-mate of thirty years dies unexpectedly, Jules surprises even herself by selling her house, giving away her possessions, and purchasing a remote ranch in Flagstaff Arizona. Her driving need to escape the memories of a life she cherished and lost dismays her friends and family, but she knows she simply cannot stay if she hopes to survive.
She spends her first week on the ranch sitting under the front porch with a starving Great Dane that comforts her in her grief as she cares for his broken body. Jules soon learns that her ranch has a way of drawing the wretched and abandoned to itself: both animal and human. As Jules channels her grief into mending broken lives, including those of a desperate undocumented Mexican family, her own healing begins.
The Accidental Rescue is a story of hope and new beginnings in the face of unbearable loss and grief. It also puts a human face to those undocumented families who risk their very lives to begin anew in America.
