Description

The sequel to Daniel Kelley's enchanting story A Dance with Tilly, Jack & Tilly is a 51,000-word novel set 18 months after the original tale.

Invited to Professor Schnabel's home for tea one Sunday afternoon, Jack and Tilly unintentionally discover three brass keys hidden underneath a sundial in the professor's garden. As 15-year-olds sometimes do, the pair then goes more than a little nuts, searching every corner of the house for the locks the keys might open, while ignoring and annoying their host. In anger, the professor then accidentally utters the name Clara in front of Tilly, who has never been told of what Jack once witnessed.

Tilly demands answers from Jack. And once Jack chooses to share, the two of them decide together to research Clara's history, despite the professor's stern warnings not to do so. As Jack struggles to achieve balance in the various worlds he inhabits, outside forces as well as strange new tensions between him and Tilly threaten all that he holds dear.

Captivating as well as strikingly adventurous, Jack & Tilly is a warmly told tale of exploration and discovery - not only of Jack's external world, but of all the wondrous machinations that can take place inside a 15-year-old boy's head. Sit back, relax, and savor every minute spent with Jack Wharton and Tilly Spence, for there is much that is magical in Marblehead, particularly where Jack and Tilly go.
