They were not the most promising of combatants to save their world.

As the Warlock's trolls crush all resistance to his tyrannical rule, only three people stand in his way: Halfshaft, (who many years before had almost been expelled from Wizard College for sexual activity with a pyromaniac which broke every health and safety rule in the book), Takina (an Amazon so unfashionably curvaceous that she had long-since been rejected by her more angularly-inclined tribe) and Rod ( a man whose idea of exercise had been to stagger home from the pub after last orders).

They are helped in their quest by an assortment of unlikely heroes, including Grendel and the raucous Knights of Hrothgar; the narcissistic Cherry and her reluctant love-interest Thane; William the Conqueror; the Lady Garden; and the spikey-haired pop star Jemal from Badgergoogoo.

This is the second book in the "Further Chronicles of Halfshaft" humorous fantasy trilogy, by the author of "Slave-Girls and Amazons" and of "The Halfshaft Games". The final book, "The Wizard and the Amazon", is due out on 30th June 2017.
