Description
A spy?
Lacey Adams can bake. No one would deny the lusciousness of her pies, or the perfect bite of her kolaches. But it feels like that's the only thing she has going for her. Her husband's grown distant, her washing machine eats more socks than it cleans, and her sweet, precious baby girl has been taken over by body snatchers and replaced by a sassy teen. Or simply succumbed to hormones. One or the other. It was hard to tell.
Determined to escape her boring life for at least an hour, Lacey locks herself in the bathroom with a pound of epsom salt and her phone. While soaking in a hot bath and scrolling through her email, a spy thriller shows up on Lacey's phone, and she's not sure how it got there. Did she accidentally just buy her first ebook? She's a die-hard physical book fan. Could she even read an entire novel on her tiny phone? Before she can second guess herself, the book is downloaded and open, and not only is she reading it, she becomes the main character in the story. What? Lacey thought she wanted to add some excitement to her boring life, but -- A spy? A professional pastry chef would have at least made sense, but nope, a spy she is. If this doesn't add some spice to Lacey's boring life, nothing will!
Whoever said that a book could change your life really knew what they were talking about. But did they really mean like this?
