Description
Everyday, somewhere in the world, there is someone struggling with drug/alcohol addiction. There is also another struggle going on at the exact same time. The struggle of those who love that addict. We often see movies, articles, blogs, and books about addiction and what addiction is like for someone battling it, but we do not see quite as much information for families. This book is written for that purpose. When you love an addict, it can become like a prison with no bars. You feel helpless, hopeless, afraid, angry, and an entire host of other emotions... often all at the same time. This book not only offers education about addiction and direction on how best to deal with an addict loved one, but it also offers hope. This book gives a very real, honest, look at addiction and what can happen when dealing with an addict, using real examples from the author's experience in the addiction field. However, the theme throughout is, "Love the Addict, Hate the Addiction", and the aim is to establish the fact that people can and do recover from addiction, and families can and do recover as well.
