Description
Epic adventure of Shiva, during a primeval and long-forgotten period of Indic civilisation...
It had been foreseen that a few centuries after the occurrence of Mahabharata, humanity would face the greatest challenge to its survival, in the form of catastrophic global foods or Pralay. Yet, no one had expected the clouds of strife to gather so soon...
As the steady rise of sea level started to inundate their fortified archipelagos and underground cities like Patala, the powerful Daityan empire launched a series of swift and brutal military campaigns from the lofty citadels of Tripura, to establish their oppressive dominion over the whole known world. Virtually unstoppable, the emperor's army of artificially bred warrior hoards ruthlessly slaughtered their way through any opposition.
Faced with defeat and subjugation, a consortium of few remaining free nations continued to resist, but without much success. Their only final hope is to trust an old legend about the mythical 'Pinaka'. To wield that mysterious weapon of the gods, however, someone must undertake an arduous journey to the forbidden lands of Mount Kailash and cross the barrier of death itself.
Will a young monk from the knightly order of Raudra, be able to battle powerful forces of darkness and complete the suicidal mission? Can he overcome his demonic fears and regretful memories of a violent past? Will his unbearable grief over a recent personal tragedy come in the way? Is he the one destined to become the Shiva of the coming age?
Mythological Theme
The story is built around events that led to the destruction of Tripura by Lord Shiva, as described in the ancient scriptures of India. It is also allegorical to the destruction of Atlantis per Greek mythology.
According to ancient Shiva-Pur?n, Tripura was built on large mobile platforms, high up among the clouds. These technologically advanced city structures defied gravity and could even fly across the skies around the planet. They had powerful weapon systems capable of dominating the terrestrial landscape far below. Prosperous denizens of these architectural marvels enjoyed opulent comforts and long life. It's said that the genetic rejuvenation pools of Tripura could revive even the dead. Eventually, however, the occupants of these wondrous sky-cities degenerated into decadence, greed, arrogance and violence, which led to their destruction by Shiva.
Couple of Interesting Trivia
1. The triple cities of 'Tripura' built upon the island of 'Atala' also correspond to 'Atlantis (Atalantpuri)' in Greek mythology.
2. Strange geology around the lake of 'Lonar' within the Indian state of Maharashtra is uncannily similar to the crater likely to form after a huge nuclear explosion.
