Description
Angie is just settling into her quiet life as a small-town newspaper reporter, and has vowed to stay out of trouble this time, no matter what.
But when her dog Bernie fathers pups with the dog of a newly arrived white supremacist militia member, she can't help but get involved. So much for staying out of trouble!
Angie Kramer, reporter and advice columnist for The Marietta Times, receives a letter from a young boy whose mother has disappeared. Her efforts to help the boy lead her to a charismatic white supremacist running for mayor, and lead Bernie to his doggy soul-mate.
The ostensible goal of the militia is to create safe spaces for white nationalists, one town at a time. But when Angie finds a link between the militia, their leader, and the recent vandalism at the decommissioned nuclear reactor site, she knows there's a much more dangerous plan.
If Angie can't stop the militia, stop the crooked mayoral election, and stop lovestruck Bernie, there'll be no safe space for her or anybody else in Wyoming.
White supremacists? Nuclear weapons? Bernie's in love? Angie's quiet life will have to wait.
