Description
Danny's broadcasting career evolved through many muses. His first was Lulu, a Lolitaish temptress. Sandra , a caterer, had an explosive temper. Phyllis had a net worth of $4.7 million and wrote poems on themes of disappointment, betrayal, and death. Daunted by setbacks, Danny drank to excess and checked into alcohol rehab in Reno where he was bewitched by Natalie, a shapely blonde classmate. Danny and Natalie married, celebrated, and undid six weeks of good intentions. His career in tatters, Danny found himself at a broadcasters convention, heard Lulu's voice singing sweetly, and saw her masquerading as a TV evangelist. In due course, he quit alcohol and landed a job with a public radio station where he hooked up with Paula, a music critic, and began "Alternate Perspectives," a weekly midnight show that explored the boundaries between reality and the improbable. While researching a cult, he encountered Koko, an attractive young woman whose kiss "felt like it had the force of nature, all creation, and possibly the original big bang behind it." They took up housekeeping until she disappeared one night, apparently abducted by a UFO. What do you suppose happened next?
