Derek had never been to that sort of bar before and never thought he would. Seven decades of quiet living were turned upside down in just one long night. The evening started well, with cocktails he had long forgotten and music he never knew existed. And the men. He didn't know where to start with them.
He didn't remember much else, other than the darkest screams of a teenage boy and his own battle lost against arms thicker than his thighs.
In the weeks that follow, the attacks increase, and Derek blames himself for not doing enough that night, angry at his decision to enter a life that belongs to a different generation. With no one to turn to, he struggles with the eternal love he still feels for his late wife and the lust he has for a new world he always denied himself.
As the number of victims grows, he befriends a young detective who is trying to capture this serial rapist who targets only gay men. But when those attacks turn to murder and the manhunt reveals no clues, Derek forces himself into a world of skinny jeans and sexual hook ups, determined catch the attacker, to experience new love and lust, and to find his own place under the rainbow.
