Since time immemorial humans have been a collateral to a great war that has been waged in the shadows. A power tussle between the demons and the witches.

Demons of the old were far stronger. Thus the witches created the wolves to guard them against the evil whispers of these demons. When the wolves revolted the witches created the vampires out of their human corpses to bring about the balance, and in doing so they doomed themselves.

As a last resort, the greatest witches gathered and enchanted the blood of the strongest-willed men and women. Tasking them to restore the natural balance that they had disrupted.

The world had all but forgotten about them. Their legends were turned into stories and their stories were then forgotten.

Now, all these centuries later, an evil whisper from the shadow wants to make its way back into the light. And it is up to an unlikely trio of a witch with no grimoire, a prideful hunter who has lost his magic, and a demon shunned by his own kind to put a stop to this before the world as we know it comes to an end.

Isabella's POV:
I have had paranormal experiences growing up. But nothing could have prepared me for that fateful night at the subway station.

Alone, except for a peculiar man who referred to himself as a hunter, I found myself caught in a nightmare. He was on the trail of a creature who he claimed to be from hell. And at first, I thought him to be a weirdo. New York City was full of them. But I was wrong as that said creature soon turned its deadly gaze upon us.

When that creature attacked, the hunter marked himself with my blood, urging me to flee while he became the bait. Everything unfolded in a blur, and the last image etched in my mind was of his horrific demise as I escaped.

Jonas, the hunter, died that night saving my life.

Or so I believed.

Because he returned, finding me at the diner where I worked. But this reunion wasn't one of concern. He sought answers about a curse. A curse that had somehow linked our hearts together.

"If one of us dies, then so does the other," he said.

Jonas's POV:
This wasn't supposed to happen.

I was supposed to die the death of a hunter while I saved her soul that night. It's been a long time since I have lost my hunter's magic. But I was still the same Jonas. The strongest hunter there ever was. So as I sacrificed myself for her to live, the last thing I expected was to find myself alive.

I was broken. Torn. And yet, I was still breathing. But the thing that saved me from my death. Didn't do it to consume my beating heart. Instead, that thing had cursed my soul, binding my heart to Isabella's.

Now, if she dies, then so do I.

Cursed or not, I must now protect Isabella not only from the creatures that intertwined our fates but also from the supernatural world at large. Because Isabella may not know it yet. But she is a powerful witch.

And the one that had cursed us together was her dead mother.
