Description
Romantic historical novel set in Cornwall at the beginning of the 19th century. The very first time Sarah Trevelyan looked into Richard Foyle's ocean grey eyes she was infatuated. The handsome man had recently taken possession of Holt House, a manor close to her father's grand mansion. Though Richard was a fairly regular visitor and often in her father's inner sanctum, Sarah could only dream of being in his company. Though Richard was aware of the pretty young woman, he was cautious. He was a little older and established in business with a modest fleet of ships sailing out of Falmouth quay and Sarah's father was his biggest export customer.
A terrible secret burned in Sarah's father's mind and he was determined that his other daughter, Harriet, would be be Richard Foyle's bride and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goal.
Betrayed by her family and seeking shelter with Richard, Sarah is unsure where his feelings lie.
