Bright Moons: Black Frost
Book One: Into Exile
On the southern coast of England, protecting Christchurch harbour from the roughest waters of the Channel, lies Hengistbury Head. Even in the holiday season, after dark, it is a bleak place where the wind and sea whisper rumours of phantoms and spectral, other worlds. And one warm summer's night, drawn by its reputation, Fraser Doyle persuades two friends to join him in seeking out the ghosts that haunt the thin grass and heather of the field below the Head. What they see there is certainly not of this world.
'Bright Moons: Black Frost' is an epic story in four books which tells how the barrier between universes is breached and two, fourteen year-old boys are snatched into another reality where the Earth never cooled and life evolved differently. Here, mankind arrived in a great vessel, but can only survive the hostilities of the adopted world by sealing itself inside an enclave, carved out of the jungle. When Fraser and Jon arrive, the colony is in a time of insurrection and the boys are forced into putting their trust in something far from human.
'Book One: Into Exile' follows the boys' first steps on their journey to find the only way back home. Accompanied by the children of the Bloodline and an elderly priest, and guided by two creatures of this other world, they begin a quest which will reveal more than the truth about the Ark. Fraser and Jon start to learn truths about themselves - truths that they would never have suspected, and could never have discovered had they not gone in search of ghosts on that summer's night.
