Description
Jayne Johnson has suffered a tragic loss, and along with her twin sons, has endured two months of torture.
From the beginning her, husband's comments had eroded her confidence in herself, and now her brother's torment has eaten up what remained. But she knew her sons deserved her protection, not her lethargic submission. She had to find a way out.
She falls in love with Charlie Weaver, one of her rescuers, and after seven years of meekly accepting her husband's slights and choices, she voices no objection when Charlie wants to continue living on the farm, and pays the farm's value into a trust for the boys.
When Charlie's sister marries and sets off for Washington State, the twins want to make the move too. Charlie is enthused about it and Jayne sees it as a way of escape from her former life and all the events that happened there, and she eagerly agrees.
When boarding the train, she has no idea of the change and joy the journey will bring.
