Description
Summer in Cornwall - what could be better... ?
Best friends Daphne and Stella pack in their dead-end jobs, wave goodbye to the Princess Margaret Estate, and head to Cornwall to spend the summer working in the Cosy Café, owned by Daphne's Uncle Quentin.
But the café is anything but cosy, Uncle Quentin wears a vest - always - and the village of Upper Chuffing is nothing like the Cornwall they've seen on telly. It's run down and dismal, with not so much as a strip of bunting to liven it up. And as for the holiday romances the girls had in mind, one look at the local lads says they can forget that, too.
But as the summer drifts on, it's clear the girls have misjudged Upper Chuffing and its quirky collection of inhabitants. Surprises are in store, expectations revised, prejudices washed away. And as for romance, maybe they were looking in the wrong place...
