When nineteen-year-old Ashlen Edwards moves into a bed-and-breakfast in Delaware owned by an Irish woman, sixty-nine-year-old Stevie Kelly, she finds a motherly figure that she had been lacking. The young, naive Ashlen tries to find pleasure in her new environment but has difficulty letting go of her painful past. Empathetic Stevie takes her under her wings and guides her on a healing journey in a way she feels is helpful.
Stevie offers Ashlen a ton of alcohol and advice on life. Ashlen meets a few interesting people living in the Bed-and-Breakfast, from whom she learns strange life lessons. Ashlen begins to feel better with the help of her newfound friend, but emotionally challenging events continue to arise from her past and present life. Will Stevie be enough to mask the pain of her past and put her on the road to happiness?
