The story of the Blackwater Ranch continues as we follow yet another member of the Barton family through their struggles and triumphs of the heart.

Aaron:
Aaron is the grandson of George Barton the current family patriarch and is struggling to find his place in the family business. He hasn't been able to live up to his grandfather's expectations in business or settling down and starting a family. Aaron's relationships typically end in disaster a few weeks after they start, and he has developed a reputation of failing to commit. He doesn't feel like he has a commitment issue, but there is an empty feeling in his heart that he can't explain.

Aaron lacks the bold leadership that the rest of the Barton men are known for and certainly lacks results to show as well. He has new ideas for the family business, but no one takes him seriously adding to his already lacking self-esteem.

Grace:
Grace is new to Blackwater and relocated from Buffalo, NY at the end of the summer. She is has a taken a job at the Pecan Ridge Foster Home where she will place children with foster families while looking for long term adoption options.
Grace came from a poor family and had to work her butt off at three jobs to get through community college and then even harder work to finish her bachelor's degree at the state college. She isn't ashamed of her education, but she is a little sensitive when others talk about the ivory league schools they have graduated from. Deep down Grace feels like she is not good enough and therefore always struggles in every relationship, even when she finds a decent guy.

She wants to show up well in her new job and prove to everyone that she can make a difference. There has been a recent surge in children that need to be placed and Grace wants to get these children in homes before the holidays. This is a monumental task and she will need to look for help in the local community.
