Description
Women Who Magic is a three-book series:
Book 1 - Sing to Me of Magic
Women haven't been able to perform meaningful magic ever since the Goddess withdrew from the world five thousand years ago and took her gifts with her. So, when she teases a return by blessing a woman from each of the six kingdoms as a test of whether the world has earned it, the ruling kings see it as the threat that it is.
In the West, Fleure, an emotionally shattered spirit witch, is foolish enough to set foot in Dark Order territory in the hope of regaining the Goddess's favor, which brings her to the attention of Lilith, a jaded necromancer and foot soldier of the Order whose duty is to hunt her down.
In the Middle Kingdoms, Vrin and Ember, an inexperienced water charmer and fire caster, are forced to join their kingdoms' warring armies, making them enemies on the battlefield.
In the East, a tragic disaster forces Cinter, a fledgling ice mage, out of her home. Washing up on the Eastern Isles, she meets Zaryah, an untrained wind wielder who's been tricked into a life of servitude in the Caliph's harem.
Arrayed against kings who magic far more powerful than them, men who have had five thousand years to entrench themselves, the six women only have each other and the Goddess's benediction to rely on.
Book 2 - Kiss, Conjure, Kill
Lilith and Fleure, Vrin and Ember, and Zaryah and Cinter find themselves transported five thousand years into the past to learn the real reason the Goddess left the world. They neither expect nor wish to become embroiled in the intrigues between the ruling Council and a fledgling rebellion, particularly when they already know that the clash precipitates the Fall of civilization. Never mind that they're trapped in the past when their true struggle is in a present they can't seem to return to.
Armed with only the promise that a secret will be revealed in their time, one too explosive to be uttered aloud until then, the women decide to take the fight to their oppressors. Lilith and Fleure take on the Dark Order and its weaponization of plague. Zaryah and Cinter commit to freeing the Caliph's harem and shutting down the mines that claim so many lives just so that the already wealthy Caliph can become even richer. Vrin and Ember decide to end the war between their kingdoms, and Vrin makes it her personal mission to locate and decode the Future Historian's message.
Enemies assail our heroines at every turn, relationships are tested, past flames return, daring heists are attempted, unlikely alliances are forged, and that's only the beginning. The war for the past, present and future has begun.
Book 3 - A Song Once Sung
The kings decide that enough is enough - the women must be put down. One king alone would pose a formidable challenge, but all of them allied? The combined force they send is one such as the world has never seen, and that's just in the physical world. The Shadowlands hold their own terrors.
The kings don't seem concerned that magic is dying. They plan to tap into the power of chaos itself, flirting with energies that corrupt the soul. An ancient weapon of terrible power is unearthed and put to use, one that threatens the very fabric of the world.
The series comes to its dramatic conclusion as greater threats emerge and sacrifices must be made. Can a rift five thousand years old be healed?
Only one thing is certain - the women were never six; they've always been one.
