Description

The Story:

In the rural town of Bangassou, Central African Republic, James Draves is determined to make a difference. A passionate humanitarian, he dreams of transforming education for the youth in his community. With the support of local twin celebrities and skilled athletes, Etienne and Benjamin Guidi, he aims to bridge the technological divide that has held their town back for too long. Together, they launch The Bangassou Project, but their vision faces skepticism from local leaders who doubt their ambitious plans.

As they navigate the challenges of educational reform, the trio encounters fierce resistance from community members who fear change. Limited access to technology threatens their progress, and they struggle to keep the project afloat against growing odds. Every setback tests their resolve and commitment to their cause, forcing them to rethink their strategies and unite the town behind them.

Their journey is fraught with unexpected consequences and moments of triumph, but will their efforts truly empower the youth of Bangassou? As obstacles mount, James and the Guidi's must rise above the challenges, proving that passion and teamwork can overcome even the toughest of doubts. In the fight for a brighter future, the stakes have never been higher.

"... extremely intriguing."

"Internet and Africa, what is there not to like!"

"This book explores the impact of technology in a remote African village when young people are introduced to computers and the internet for the first time. As they begin to explore the digital world, they discover both its potential and its pitfalls. The young people quickly find creative uses for the internet, but they also face the darker side, such as addiction to social media and online gaming. The story thoughtfully examines the growing generational divide as the youth rapidly embrace modern technology, leaving the older generation to grapple with the changes. It raises important questions about how technology shapes communities and relationships. An engaging and relevant read, this book offers a nuanced look at both the opportunities and challenges of the digital age."

"I like a book that makes me stop and think. By taking the internet to a village that had never heard of it and monitoring its use for good, great things happen. I recommend this book."

"What I liked about this book is the deep dive into the African culture and how the locals are willing to come together to implement this introduction to technology and decrease the divide."
